Spring 2020 Registration
by posted 12/02/2019

Registration for HYLA Spring 2020 Lacrosse is open!

The Spring 2020 season will run from late February until May.  We will update the website with more details and specific dates as they become available.

Please register as soon as possible.  We need to order uniforms with enough lead time to have them for the first games.

For this coming season and beyond, we will be classifying teams by age group (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U) instead of grades in order to adhere to the US Lacrosse classifications that MAYLA has started to use.  Please check the registration page for the appropriate age group for your player.  If there is a situation where you would like your player to play down an age group to stay with classmates, email HYLA at hoyayouthlacrosseassn@gmail.com to review any options.

The boys and girls programs will use the same uniforms as the past fall season.  For those new to lacrosse, the uniform consists of shorts, socks, shooter shirt and jersey.  If you do not already have it, you will need to purchase all other euipment items (pads, sticks, helmets, mouthguards, etc) separately from local sporting goods stores or from lacrosse retailers.

Registration will remain open until February 15, 2020.

There is a $25 Early Registration Discount for any players registered prior to January 1.

There is also a $50 discount for all new youth players.  Please email hoyayouthlacrosseassn@gmail.com prior to registering any new players to receive a discount.

Spring Introductory Clinics

We will be holding introductory clinics for boys and girls this spring.  The field we will be using is the first field on your right after you enter the park.  This is strongly recommended for any first year players.  This will teach them the basics of Lacrosse, what they can be practicing at home and have them prepared for the first practice to fully participate in team activities.

If you have not registered for the clinic yet and would like to attend, please do so at our website (www.hoyayouthlacrosse.com).

We will update all registered players with that dates for the clinics as those become available.

The girls will need their stick, goggles and a mouthpiece.  For the boys, feel free to have them wear all of their equipment, but at a minimum we would need them to bring their stick, helmet, mouthpiece and gloves.  Also bring a water bottle for the kids to stay hydrated.  We will take several water breaks to ensure all of them stay hydrated.

This is a FREE Clinic.  This is a great opportunity for new players to have an understanding of what to expect and be prepared to paricipate in team practice.

In the event of inclement weather, we will notify attendees regarding the status of the clinic as soon as we can.

Thanks,

Hoya Youth Lacrosse Board

Hoya Youth Lacrosse Pass It On Program

A new season usually means new gear.  So what do you do with all that old gear?  Rather than let it take up space and collect dust or sell for just a few bucks at the local second hand store, you can pass it on to a younger Hoya Lax player.  We will take just about any piece of gear that has at least one more season left in it and can enhance the Hoya Youth Lacrosse program.  If you are still not sure here are a few ideas: helmets, goggles, shoulder pads, rib pads, elbow pads, gloves, cleats, sticks (complete or parts), balls, bags, cones, bouncers and goalie gear.  If you have any of these items and want to share your love for the game please contact J.D. Scott at 850-226-2969 or  .
