Hoya Youth Lacrosse has changed from the division of players based on Age Groups to Grade Groups.  The age groups correspond to USA Lacrosse division guidelines. The league "Newtown" that we play in, uses 7U, 9U, 11U, 13U and 15U levels.  The birthday divider between age groups is September 1.
Harrison Youth Lacrosse will continue to organize by grade level in order for players to compete with their classmates.  Because of this, we ask all players to be registered by grade level while paying attention to the age limit.  If your player fits into a grade, but is outside of the listed age range, we will require a waiver to be completed before the player can participate in games.  If you need a waiver form, Contact Rebecca Smith for instructions.

Coaching Opportunities:

Do you or someone you know have experience playing or coaching lacrosse and are you interested in helping grow the sport in our area?  If so, we’d like to know!

The HYLA is holding it's Annual General Meeting at 6pm on April 19th at Lost Mountain Park (Pavillion by fields near the entrance).  All parents with children playing in HYLA are members who are invited and encouraged to attend. 

The current Board will review the budget and conduct elections for Board positions for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.  Amendments to the By-Laws will also be presented for a vote to adopt needed changes.

The five Board positions for nominations and election are:

Secretary - responsible for taking and keeping minutes of meetings, and communications with HYLA membership

Treasurer - responsible for maintaining the finances of HYLA, including ensuring corporation tax returns are filed and preparing budgets

VP - Boys - responsible for managing the Boys half of the program, including establishing teams, securing coaching for teams, scheduling with leagues and fields and ensuring team equipment is available

VP - Girls - responsible for managing the Girls half of the program, including establishing teams, securing coaching for teams, scheduling with leagues and fields and ensuring team equipment is available

President - responsible for leading the Board and HYLA meetings, coordinating Boys and Girls activities and assisting the VPs as needed.
